We are located on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, surrounded by green hills which characterise the Valtiberina Tuscany (Tiber Valley) in the province of Arezzo.
Palazzo Rosadi and Torre del Cielo are the perfect villas for an ideal holiday for those that wish to be immersed in nature, close to famous artistic towns like Monterchi, Sansepolcro, Anghiari, Caprese Michelangelo and close to important places of cultural and religious interest
Monterchi is an antique medieval town, with tranquil little roads and squares, surrounded by woods, chestnut groves and cultivated fields. Situated halfway up a small hill in a place considered sacred by ancient romans because of the mythical figure of Hercules.
Above all Monterchi is famous for its cultural initiative and because it keeps, in its museum, the fresco of the "Madonna del Parto" by Piero della Francesca. It was painted by the artist in his mother's town of birth around 1445 and rediscovered in 1888. The museum also hosts a display where you can see the various technical stages of the restoration
Another small gem is the museum of weights and measurements, hosted in the Palazzo Massi (from the 1500s). It is an extraordinary display of instruments from all ages for the measurement of different weights.
Among the cultural initiatives of Monterchi we remember the annual poetry reunion, on the last Saturday of August, where anyone can participate and it is dedicated to a different social topic each year. On the last Saturday of May the national young persons literature competition, Once upon a time, is held. In the summer there are outdoor classical music concerts.
The local traditions which make Tuscany so unique and present are still very alive in Monterchi. The art of cooking is present in the exquisite local kitchens which use delicious ingredients: polenta from yellow flour, mushrooms and truffle for which the area is very rich, hand made pasta and game. There are several restaurants in Monterchi which welcome guests in characteristic and lovely rooms.
